The Rice University Master of Bioengineering (MBE) is a widely recognized, professional non-thesis degree that provides students with greater depth in their bioengineering training. To advance students' career objectives, we offer 2 degree concentrations: Applied Bioengineering (AB) and Global Medical Innovation (GMI).
Our Bachelor of Science in Bioengineering (BSB) has been consistently ranked among the nation’s top 10 biomedical engineering undergraduate programs since 2008 and is accredited by ABET. The distinctive characteristics that exemplify the quality and productivity of the Rice Bioengineering BSB program include the advantages of small classes and access to cutting-edge laboratory facilities; multidisciplinary academic and entrepreneurship programs that use experiential learning to build critical problem-solving skills, bring innovative ideas to life, and encourage teamwork; and real-world engineering design experiences that begin as early as the freshman year and extend throughout the senior year.
